How can I best ensure the longevity of my tool?

Mirka's pad savers are designed to protect the backing pad from wear and tear, when sanding aggressively and continuously with net products. These cost effective pad savers, placed between the backing pad and the sanding disc, should be changed regularly. The pad savers prolong the life of the backing pad and in turn will prolong the life of your tool when the backing pad is changed regularly.

How can I reduce vibration when using my Mirka Tool?

Mirka tools offer low vibration compared to other sanders, however vibration can be reduced by adding weight to the counterbalance when extra screws and nuts are added (These come with the Deros sanders).

Other advice on reducing vibration:

  • Check that the abrasive is centred on the pad
  • Try using the tool on different speed settings
  • Adapt the counterweight on the shaft balancer (see tool Manual)
  • Check that the pad is a Mirka Pad and recommended for the tool
  • Check that the pad is in tact
  • Lower the speed when using an interface (max 7,000 RPM)
  • If possible, change to a thinner interface
